Born in 1945 in humble surroundings in the north of England, Robert Littleford was a self-taught artist who made the decision to become a professional painter in 1971. Robert Littleford’s first exhibition was held at Salford Art Gallery and was a resounding success attracting the attention of art critics and national television. Following many more successful exhibitions Robert Littleford was delighted in 1986 to be made a member of the British Watercolour Society. His work has also been exhibited at the Royal Society of Artists. Robert Littleford worked in watercolours portraying the scenery and life on the English beaches, the children at play, the bathers, the donkey rides.
