A beautifully haunting painting of Elizabeth Johnson looking out to sea, presumably awaiting the return of her loved one. Painted in the 19th century, this superb painting is labelled to the rear with the name of the sitter and an indistinct attribution to the artist, possibly Reynolds. There are two surface scratches on the painting. Gilt framed, ready to hang. Actual painting size is 60x45cm. 24x18 inches.
