David Roberts RA 1796-1864 (circle of) 19th Century Watercolour Rouen Cathedral Signed to Bottom

An exceptional watercolour painting in the manner of David Roberts. There is a possibility that the work is by Roberts but as I do not have sufficient provenance it is sold in the manner of. There is a signature to the bottom but also another name Strachan, so it is either by Roberts as a gift to Mr. Strachan, or painted by Mr. Strachan and he has mentioned David Roberts. If you have any questions regarding the painting, please just let me know. I bought this painting from an auction as a David Roberts, the provenance given was a private collection from a large country house. I subsequently asked a large international auction house to value it and they were not 100% sure that David Roberts painted it. It’s a stunning painting and I have priced it at a reasonable price which allow you to own a beautiful 19th century watercolour at the price of a ‘limited edition’ print from a high street ‘gallery’.
